The cemetery is a beautiful place. It is on Route 30 just south of Route 34. It has an Aurora Address even though it is in the Oswego township area. I don't remember when the cemetery opened. However, I would think that Stephanie Todd in Kendall County would be able to also help with information. As she works with cemetery listings there.
According to McMakin's "Surname Guide to Kane County, Illinois, Cemeteries:" Lincoln Memorial Gardens Located south of Aurora in Kendall County, Oswego Twp., Section 1, on the west side of US Rouute 30 (Lincoln Highway), just south of US Route 34 and .8 mile south of the Kane County line. This is a very large modern memorial garden. Apart from the main section, there are two smaller sections, one which is reserved for Romanians, and a section of Jewish interments organized in 1951. The gardens were opened in 1929, but the earliest noted interment is 1899.
