I'm always looking for old postcards from places where my family lived, which is easier to do now than it was several years ago. I came across a lovely postcard today that depicts the Cocktail Lounge and Charreuse Room at the Club Arcada, US 64 at the River. St. Charles, Ill. "One of America's Smartest Rendevzvous offering Choice Food-Drink-Entertainment." I bought it, of course. Now, as a transplanted Illini, I do know about the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles (having been scared to death when I saw 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea there as a child).
