    1. [ILKANE] OHLEMACHER & GROCH families of Aurora, Kane Co., IL
    2. Rick or Nancy Gleason
    3. Several of the Ohlemacher family brothers relocated from Sandusky OH to Aurora in the late 1850's and early 1860's. Charles and his wife Elizabeth nee Steppich lived in Aurora from the 1850's to the late 1860's, relocated to TN where Charles died in 1879. Elizabeth returned to Aurora and married a Smith sometime after 1880. Elizabeth died in 1926 and is buried with her second husband in Spring Lake Cemetery, along with two of her adult children from Charles. Charles and Elizabeth's son William was living in Aurora in 1930 in the same house previously occupied by Elizabeth prior to her death. William later relocated to KY where he is buried. Charles' brother Frederick Ohlemacher arrived in Aurora around 1858. He married Clementina Groch of Aurora in 1862. Fred was involved in several occupations from cabinet maker to lime kiln operator. Several of their children were born in Aurora. They returned to Sandusky around 1867. Christian Ohlemacher changed his name to Ohlmacher. He also lived in Aurora for a while as at least one son was born there, in 1867. I'd be interested in any information anyone may have on these families, particularly during the time they were in Aurora. Also, there is a Frederick W. Ohlemacher age 1, interred in the Spring Lake Cemetery in 1872 in plot JE-299. I do not know whose child this is and would like to know if anyone can help me.
