If by "archives" yuo mean a collection of old newspapers, the Aurora Public Library has back issues of the Beacon and several other small Aurora newspapers on microfilm. Unfortunately we do not have any kind of index for papers that early and the Illinois Death Index doesn't go back that far. If you know the date of death I would look up the obituary for you. There would be a charge of $1.00 per obit plus postage. If you sent a standard size SASE I wouldn't have to charge for postage. I do these on my off desk time so sometimes it takes a while before I can get to them. Hope this is helpful. I am looking for an obit and would have to search the years from 1900 to 1908. Would the Aurora Beacon have had obits for Batavia? Where in Batavia would someone have been buried besides West Batavia Cemetery? Any help is appreciated. Hello Mary Ann, I was going back through messages and was just wondering if you ever had the chance to look for the obit for Peter LInden, d. Nov. 22, 1900? Thanks for you help. I have a small notice but it does not give any survivors or info.
