Thanks, Roy. I've been through most of that site already. I don't think that they owned a farm, so they aren't listed in the landowners sections of the plat/county atlases. I was hoping for a directory of some kind for that area. Terry, Have you tried area church records? They can be extremely helpful in narrowing down time frames in the community and for Swedes, they frequently list a birth place. Another option might be to explore the area libraries through on-line library catalogs and see what's available to you through inter-library loan. LaFox is a pretty small community, perhaps their historical society or Chamber of Commerce (if they have one) could be of some assistance.
