I am not related in any way...I was only taken with the "French Section" that I didn't know about even tho I was raised near there. But then, we have no French in our family lines. Wiener, 84, of Aurora, passed away Friday, June 13, 2003 at her home. She was born July 29, 1918 in Aurora. Mrs. Wiener was a lifelong resident of Aurora, settling into the original French section of Aurora and attending Sacred Heart School and Church. Mr. and Mrs. Wiener met in the Marine Corps during World War II and were married at Chapel Hill, NC. Following their discharges, Mr. and Mrs. Wiener settled in her parents' home and raised their family. Joanne retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Co. Survivors include her husband, James E. Wiener; her daughter, JoAnn (James) Howard; one granddaughter, Susan M. (Raymond) Stell; and two great granddaughters, Brenna Nicole Stell and Julianna Paige Stell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Suzanne (Fassbinder) Voirin; one brother, Arthur Voirin; and three sisters: Mary Muncy, Helene Strong and Jeannette Paredones. The family wishes to thank Dr. Paul Chiang and staff from Home Care Physicians, the V.N.A. staff and the V.N.A. Hospice staff for all of their kindness and prayers throughout Joanne's illness. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, June 16, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 430 E. Downer Pl., Aurora. Fr. David Palmatier, O.S.B. will officiate.
