My greataunt and uncle, the J.C.HOLTBYs, lived in Elgin in November, 1904, when my parents were married. My parents newspaper wedding story states that they married in Belvidere on the 23rd of November, 1904, and left immediately for Elgin to spend time with the bride's aunt and her family. The John Crawford HOLTBY family came from Brant County, Ontario, Canada, and to Elgin probably around 1896, and by the late 1905 year were in Colorado.
