    1. [ILKANE] East Batavia Cemetery Look-ups
    2. Linda Garrison
    3. Hi All, Just returned from a trip to Batavia, IL to see my family, (mama, brothers, sister) and I was privileged to attend a meeting of the Kane County Gen. Soc. What fun! A really nice group of people! We heard a great speaker give us tips for preserving photos. I met and talked with Sue Lye, Pres. Gen. Soc. and Marilyn Robinson, Town Historian and former teacher. I have 3 of Marilyn's books on Batavia and address for purchase, if you're interested. There's a great one for elementary students. I was also able to purchase a copy of the EAST BATAVIA CEMETERY INDEX (I think one whole section is my ancestors). The INDEX contains first and last names, date of birth and death, and location in the cemetery. I would be happy to do look-ups for you. (evenings.) Marilyn also showed me around the NEW Research Center on the ground floor of Batavia's Depot Museum located right on the Fox River. Very beautiful and impressive! Mr. Wm. J. Wood, well-known Batavia historian, and former principal and teacher, was also there and we reminisced. What a great city Batavia is - so beautiful this time of year. My sis from CA and I took a long walk around town and some of the sidewalks were buried under maple and oak leaves, so we "swished" our way through them like we did when we were kids. I hope you all can visit your home town soon. It was really wonderful!!!!!! Blessings on you, Linda Hoover Garrison [email protected]
