Hello everyone! I'd love to hear of any sightings of MILLS, SETZ or HARTLEY families in Aurora, Kane. I might be able to help you with your Lancashire, Westmorland or Glamorgan research in return! I'm trying to find information about my great-grand-uncle Hamlet HARTLEY and his family. Here's what I know so far: Hamlet HARTLEY b. Westhoughton, Lancashire, UK 1837 married Sarah MILLS (1850-1925) on 24 Mar 1868 in Aurora, Kane, Illinois (according to LDS records). Sarah was also born in England, according to census information. The couple had moved to Pawnee City, Nebraska by June 1870, where they had 12 children, and where Hamlet died in December 1922. His obituary mentions that one of his daughters was Mrs Paul SETZ of Aurora, Illinois. Other evidence suggests that Elizabeth (Lizzie) HARTLEY, b. 1889, lived in Aurora at one time, and it's possible that she was Mrs SETZ. Please get in touch if you have any information about these!
