Bob, suggest you spend a day at the State Historical Library in Madison (at the bottom of State Street on University Campus) with one of the specialists there. They can help you sort out the discrepancies. The library has the second largest collection of family histories in the world, and I have found many a connection there. The library's holdings are worldwide, not just Wisconsin, although the Wisconsin section is outstanding.
