Good day listers, Anyone on this list researching SPIESS? Probably of the SPIESS family that owned a Department Store in Elgin, Kane County, IL. I believe I have found my great great grandmother's family [KATHARINA SPIESS] in DOLGESHIEM and EIMSHEIM, Hessen, Germany. She married KASPAR BITTINGER in Eimsheim. My great grandfather, PHILLIP BITTINGER immigrated to Elgin, IL, married CAROLINA FIERK and raised a family there. Family lore had it, that my line was related to the SPIESS family, but couldn't prove that until the other day when I found on LDS film the connection. Please contact me if there's an interest.
