Hello listers, I am searching information on the sur names PRINDLE and HAMMOND c. 1800 -1900 some were in Clintonville (South Elgin) and some in Aurora. GrGrGrandfather lived there in 1858, went to war in1861 when he went to the Calvary, his name was Charles B. PRINDLE b. 1835, m. Maryette HAMMOND 1858, in Kane County, d. 3 Dec 1863 in Helena, Arkansas at the regimental hospital. He had a son named William or George born in 1860. There was a George H. PRINDLE listed as a butcher, bds at 81 Bartlett PL. in 1888 in a City directory for Elgin. I can find him on a Civil War Roster, but can not find a burial place for him.
