Hello list. I have just begun researching a new line of my husband's family, and I'm in the fact-finding mode right now. His gr-grandmother was Lina Magdalena Ruefli who was born in Bern, Switzerland on February 12, 1872. This Ruefli family came to Elgin to work at the Elgin National Watch Company given that the men were watchmakers. They supposedly immigrated in 1884. Is anyone out there researching their Ruefli lineage? I am awaiting the marriage certificate of Lina and her husband Frank R. Horton from the Kane Co., Illinois Clerk's Office so I don't have any more information to share as of yet. Thanks! Lisa Hopp
