Lori, you can navigate the Illinois website and get all the information you are looking for I believe with this address. I have found marriages, deaths and other info on this site. Hope this helps, Laura http://www.vitalrec.com/il.html http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/cgi-bin/archives/marriage.s http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/genealogy/forms/idphd eathsrch.html ----- Original Message ----- From: <Aulo00@aol.com> To: <ILKANE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 13, 2003 12:03 AM Subject: [ILKANE] Marriage Lookup Request for ABEL(L) > Dear listers: > > If anyone has access to the marriage records (transcribed or otherwise) I > would greatly appreciate a lookup for the following two persons: > > Groom: Albert ABELL, in the 1880s, sometime before 1890 (he had a Chicago > marriage after 1890, and I am looking to find evidence of a prior marriage). > > Also: > > Bride: Jessie June ABELL, around 1904. > > I would like to order the marriage certificates if these events took place in > Kane County. > > Thanks to anyone who can help. > > Lori > > > ==== ILKANE Mailing List ==== > Software and hardware for this list are provided courtesy of RootsWeb. >
Dear listers: I would like to know if a record exists for the birth of an aunt but I am not sure of her maiden name. If there has been an extract of Kane County births from the county records I would much like to know if there was a record for the following: Juanita Nadia (last name unknown), born on or around March 12, 1904, birthplace was said to have been Elgin, Illinois. Thanks to anyone who may be able to locate this information for me. I haven't yet tried to order a birth record from Kane County and don't know if it will be a problem or not. Lori
Dear listers: If anyone has access to the marriage records (transcribed or otherwise) I would greatly appreciate a lookup for the following two persons: Groom: Albert ABELL, in the 1880s, sometime before 1890 (he had a Chicago marriage after 1890, and I am looking to find evidence of a prior marriage). Also: Bride: Jessie June ABELL, around 1904. I would like to order the marriage certificates if these events took place in Kane County. Thanks to anyone who can help. Lori
I am looking for the obiturary for Minnie (nee Wendt) WALTERS b. Aug. 10, 1877 in Carpentersville, Kane Co., IL. and d. Jane 1967 in Elgin, Kane Co., IL. Thank You, Joanne Reno, NV JYardDog51@aol.com

Hi, We used to ride out to Elgin from Park Ridge, IL Pat
I believe the watch factory was torn down around 1966. I don't know if you were the one inquiring about that or not. Where did you ride out to Elgin from? My husband is a native but we do not live in Elgin anymore. I have some history books on Elgin. Hello Ross, Thank you for the interest about the Elgin Watch Factory, and contacting me. I am curious about the Watch Factory......my gr gr grandparents lived in Clintonville (South Elgin now) in the 1860's and they had two boys. One I have information on as he was my gr grandfather, his brother is my elusive ancestor. I found both on a census for 1880........Just thought the brother may have worked for the Elgin Watch Factory, after 1880. His name was William H. Prindle. When I was in high school in the 50's we(kids) would ride out to Elgin at night to see the Elgin Ghost. Which was a legend.......and it was the pillars at the gate of the Watch Factory, when the head lights hit the pillars at the curve in the road, it would appear as a ghost. Waiting to hear more of your findings. Regards, Pat ~~ Autumdeer2@aol.com
I have been cleaning up my system after hving a problem getting into it and saw your e-mail. I do not know who did your research in this area but either they are very mistaken or there is a typo on the date that the Elgin Watch Factory was torn down. I am unable to tell you what the year was but I do know that I and my children watched this being done on our daily walks in about 1970. I will do some futher checking and get back to you with what I find, There is an apartment complex and strip mall on that land at this time which have been there since pior to 1975. ----- Original Message ----- From: <R1946AT@aol.com> To: <ILKANE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 15, 2002 11:15 PM Subject: [ILKANE] Elgin Watch Factory > I see a discussion regarding the Elgin Watch Factory.
