I'm not sure what the context is for your "death record" but I would think that an (Illinois) death certificate would be one type of death record (county certificates, which sometimes differ from the state certificates, may be another example). The information on an Illinois death certificate changed over the years (in general, older records have less information), but generally they have the following information: - Deceased's name, and date and place of death - often has date and place of birth - often has parents names and sometimes places of birth - cause of death and other medical information and signatures - usually has date and place of burial - usually has an informant's name and sometimes an address - funeral director's name and sometimes address - etc. Hope that helps some. I am posting again with the hope that someone out there in Kane Co. has some information about my Donovan's. My Great Grandparents were Jeremiah and Julia Donovan. Unfortunately they had three children and only one grandchild. I am the daughter of that grandchild. Jeremiah had 6 siblings. Julia was born to Michael Nagle and Anne Farrissey and she had two brothers. Timothy b. 1850 and David b. 1852. These folks were from Clonakilty, Cork Co., Ireland. Any help will be appreciated. According to McMakin's "Surname Guide to Kane County, Illinois, Cemeteries:" Lincoln Memorial Gardens Located south of Aurora in Kendall County, Oswego Twp., Section 1, on the west side of US Rouute 30 (Lincoln Highway), just south of US Route 34 and .8 mile south of the Kane County line. This is a very large modern memorial garden. Apart from the main section, there are two smaller sections, one which is reserved for Romanians, and a section of Jewish interments organized in 1951. The gardens were opened in 1929, but the earliest noted interment is 1899. The cemetery is a beautiful place. It is on Route 30 just south of Route 34. It has an Aurora Address even though it is in the Oswego township area. I don't remember when the cemetery opened. However, I would think that Stephanie Todd in Kendall County would be able to also help with information. As she works with cemetery listings there.
Listers, Thanks to all who responded to my question about this cemetery. I checked a couple web sites before posting my request for help, but yours were much more informative! Laura
