R. Wright, Circuit Clerk and Recorder; remained there for eight years. Purchased abstract books of P. R. Wright in 1863; Fall of 1864, was elected to office of Circuit Clerk and Recorder, which office he faithfully filled for four years; since then he has been in the Kane Co. Abstract Office. Rep. A mention of a Prudence Ward (related?): pg. 652 TYLER, IRA D., farmer; P. O. St. Charles; Rep.; Free Meth.; born in Cayuga Co., N. Y., April 22, 1810; has 137 acres of land on Sec. 35, worth $10,000; came to this State in 1835, and settled where he now lives, having $12.50 left; married Aurelia Mixer, in Victor, N. 1. Re: [ILKANE] Death Certificates: 1860-1870
    2. It's a difficult period to find a death in. It's next to impossible that there would be a county record. There could be a church record. Possible, but not probable, that there could be a cemetery record or gravestone still existing. Maybe if you post the specifics about the person, someone on the list can help better. 1. RE: [ILKANE] Records at IRAD
    2. Kelly Haverkampf
    3. Laura, As I understand it, the IRAD death holdings are only those where there was an inquest for a "suspicious" death. I was able to get copies of a few of these - 2 that were killed in the street by streetcar and wagon, and one that fell out of a window. That said, there is little other information on the IRAD records, except "witnesses" that may provide some clues. The county death records have more information. You may be interested in an article in the October 2003 issue of Family Tree Magazine - "Discover your Dutch and Belgian Heritage" - which gives a great explanation of the changes in the territory that was at different times the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and France. Because of the time frame of your birth dates, you might just try looking for birth records in the other countries. I have ancestors from that area as well, and the article gave me some ideas for further research. Would there be coroner's records if someone died on the job or at home for that time period? I am searching for the birth place of one Bernard Linden, b. cir 1847 and one Peter Linden b. 1836. Peter Linden is one of several Peter Linden's in Aurora in my time frame. I have hit a brick wall. I have read film from the area of Luxemburg most of the Luxemburgers came from to no avail. I have places such as Haller, Consdorf, Olinger, Waldbillig and Wasserbillig. Does anyone know of other towns etc. for people from Luxemburg who settled in Aurora? Open to any and all suggestions. 2. Juli Claussen
    3. Mike, All the naturalization indexes and some of the records for Kane Co. are available for you to view on microfilm after ordering through your closest LDS Family History Center. Once I found my ancestor in the index this way, I was able to request the naturalization decree from the Kane County Courthouse---I think it was the Circuit Clerk's office--and received it quickly for a small fee.
