    1. [ILKANE] Cemeteries
    2. Thomas W. Johnston, Jr.
    3. I am looking from afar for the burial place of my great-grandparents, John and Anne (nee Quinlan) Costello. They were long-time members of the Church of St. Mary in Maple Park. In 1993 the then pastor told me that the church records indicated Anne died 16 December 1913 and was buried 19 December 1913, but the record didn't say where. Apparently there were no records of death kept by the church prior to 1913, so there is no record for John, who predeceased Anne by some years. I have tried to locate death certificates, to no avail. Recently, I learned that St, Mary's has a cemetery. Does anyone know is there are records of interments, and where they might be located? I'm assuming that the church itself does not have records, or they would have been mentioned at the time of my earlier inquiry. If Anne and John are not buried at St. Mary's, I assume they would have been buried (as Roman Catholics) in consecrated ground elsewhere; I understand that there is a Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Virgil Township - is that near Maple Park? Thanks in advance for any enlightenment. Tom Johnston [email protected]

    2. If your letter is addressed to me, I would venture that the photo of Silas Thomas Baker was taken post-Civil War, when he was either in his 30's or 40's. That would be between the late 1860's to 1870's - possibly 1880's but I doubt the photo is that new. Barry Jernigan

    3. Hi There, My GIBBS family were all from New England and eastern New York. I have just found out that my Elizabeth Johnson was born in Staten Island, NY in 1809. I believe that her husband John was born in Ireland, but I am not sure. I would love to find out something about their life in Illinois and any other children. Thanks if you can tell me anything about my George's family. I am not sure if I mentioned that my George had a "few" middle names. My gram always told me that his full name was George Courtland Butler Parker Slate Matthewson. I don't wonder he shortened it to George C.
