Debs, Thanks for your generosity! I don't need your help, but this has created an informal roll call, so I'll just post the names I'm working on-- Berna, Bielenberg, Demler, Fairchild, Finn, Hake, Hecker, Hogrefe, Holtz, Kabodi, Koch, Lamp, Rohr, Rystrom, Siers. Glad to know that there are so many people on this list. Happy hunting, everyone!
Could you please look up the surnames of HACKER and LANG(E)? Thank you in advance for your time and kindness. michelle
Hi DEBS, Thanks for your generous offer to do look-up's in your Cemetery book. When you get a chance, could you check for FUCHS and MEYER. They will probably be in Elgin. Thanks again. There is a Civil War letter from a soldier who joined at St Charles on auction at ebay. Following is a partial description from the site. I thought I would pass it along, just in case there might be a Ramson researcher on the list -- maybe the seller has the name of the sender too. I expect the Col's name should be FARNSWORTH >>>>>>>>>> The soldier writing the letter has join the Union Army, with the Cavalry Reg. at St. Charles, Ill under a Col. Fainsworth. The name of the group is Freemonts Dragoons, they were going to Washington and then off to battle. The letter tells of his untold love for this young lady (Sydia Ramson) eBay item 461252804 (Ends Oct-17-00 05:25:38 ... June

One thing is for sure, I'm finally learning to type a little better,...lol I'm actually using 4-5 fingers now instead of just 2. Major accomplishment for me! debs

Hey Guys, In the index, there is a smear by the cemetery name St Charles Borromeo. It looks like Borromeo, but I'm not 100% sure thats the exact name or not. So if that was on your list, you might want to double check to see if this is really the name. Same goes for the cemetery Mt Olivet in Aurora. I'm pretty sure thats the name, but with the smudge it could really be Mt Olive....sorry debs
