If the cemetery postings are not to your liking, either simply delete them or unsubscribe for a few days. They are (mostly) well marked and are helpful to many. Do not make your own comments or opinions about them to the list. If you have a problem, you should contact me directly. If you want to be in charge, try administering a list yourself. There are over 300 subscribers to this list, so if you want to send your thanks to DEBS, please send those privately and not publicly over the list to everyone. Any derrogatory comments made on the list will result in your removal from the list and you can check for postings that do interest you from the archives on your own. - Marcia ILKANE List Administrator
Old hand writing being what it is - sometimes difficult to decipher - I would not discount the possibility that this is "Rawson" and not "Ramson", and her name may be Lydia. The Rawson researchers on the list may wish to ask the seller for a larger scan of the letter for verification. Deb, Many thanks .. Names: Nichols Terwilliger Reinert and I believe you already did Reynolds Thanks Lorrie
Even though you were generous enough to respond to my request, and I do thank you, I think the idea of posting the codes is a great one. I happen to have other family in other parts of Illinois and who knows where I'll end up looking. You are truly a wonderful, generous person. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING. Hi, I thought I had sent this request in days ago, pushed the wrong button. Could you please look up the following? READING, GROTEMEYER and WOLCOTT? No hurry, much appreciated, Betty ---------- From: DEBS Sent: Thursday, October 12, 2000 1:52 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [ILKANE] Cemetery book I ordered the Kane county cemetery book that is advertized on the Kane Co. Genealogy site. If anyone needs a surname looked up I'll be glad to do so for you. This is strictly a surname book. It lists the last name, and gives the cemeteries where the names have been found. (No dates, or first names.) It's pretty much just kane county, but a few surrounding areas are listed too. It's great for giving you a starting point, instead of just tying to write every cemetery in the area. Just thought I would offer. debs ....ps...the book was put together in 1986. ==== ILKANE Mailing List ==== Software and hardware for this list are provided courtesy of RootsWeb.
Since there have been so many requests, I was wondering if I copied the codes for the cem, and then when someone wants a look up, I could just post the codes found after the surname , and you could match it to the cemetery name. This is basically the format used in the book, and would save a lot of time. I'm just worried that it might be a problem with copy rights. I looked all through the book, and don't see any copy right info at all. I think I'll give it a shot. Just print out it out, and keep a copy of the codes....give me a little time, it will take awhile, but overall will make things so much easier and faster. I also want to apologize for poting all this stuff, I know someone mentioned I was posting to much f, and should have mailed it private to the person looking for the info. It's just force of habit for me to hit reply, so sorry...i'll try to watch it. debs

Hi! I would be eternally grateful if you could look up some surnames for me. They would be HEAL, BRETT, BOCK. I have been searching in vain for the locations of my great grandparents' graves. thanks for your offer! Mary Lou Nebraska
