    3. In the IL State Genealogical Society, Family Bible records book Vol 2: I found recorded the Depue Family Bible. The owner of the bible is Sally Jo Mitchell BLANKENSHIP 24259 Mentry Dr, Newhall, Ca 91321. Primary names in the bible are: Depue Marsh, House, Muzzey, McWilliams and Gwinn. birth, death and marriage dates are given. I checked several other sources and this the only one with BLANKENSHIP in it. Hope this helps, Debbie Mobley __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! 1. [ILKANE] (no subject)
    2. Hello Everyone, This is my first post to the list, and it isnt a very good one. The reason being is that I am looking for my Calvin BLANKENSHIP without much to go on. I am sending this to the Illinois lists because I am thinking that since his wife was born in IL and her parents in TN, that maybe the Blankenship's moved from TN to IL, then to MO. Unfortunately I do not have last names for the women born in IL, but I figure that if I start shooting in the dark long enough, I will hit something. I estimate the Blankenship's migrating to IL after 1825. I found Calvin BLANKENSHIP married to DELIAH on the 1850 Texas County, MO census. Living next door to Calvin is WILLIAM BLANKENSHIP and his wife, PAMELA JANE. Since Calvin was only a couple of years older than William, I have to assume they are related, if not brothers, because they were the only Blankenships in TExas County at this time and they were both born in TN and both of their wives in IL (just thought that was interesting). SInce Calvin Died during the civil war (there is no record on him except a muster roll, since he was a confederate), he wasnt around when the government started asking where their parents were born. I followed Deiliah until 1880. I estimate her time of death between 1881-1883. I followed William, and he lists his parents as also being born in TN ..... although its a shot in the dark, is there anyone out there that has a link to a BLANKENSHIP's that had a son named Calvin, (who was born abt 1820-25) and/or William (b. abt.1823-1826). I do not have Calvin's parents names or their wives maiden names. I am hoping to connect them to someone who might be able to shed some light on this for me .... Thank you in advance!!!!

    1. [ILKANE] numbering system
    2. DEBS
    3. I'm still relatively new to the genealogy thing and have read several manuals on issuing numbers to the people in your tree. It had been working fine, but I've recently run into into a problem. I have turned up some people whos placement in the family falls into a spot a few pages back. I didn't know they existed, so didn't leave a blank spot, or issue a number to them. Do I have to go back and change all the numbers? This would be a real pain since I have used the numbers in some old photo books, and other books I have started keeping vital records I've collected in. There has to be a way to deal with this,....I just can't seem to figure it out. The system I have used is the basic males getting even #s, Fe odd #s. debs

    1. [ILKANE] visiting cemeteries
    2. DEBS
    3. I'm not sure about doing this, because I may get bombarded with requests, but oh' well. The surnames I've been looking for seem to be clustered in about 6 cemeteries, all in Aurora. I've written to try to get the lot cards to narrow things down, and if anything comes back as a match I plan to take a drive out and do pictures, or etchings. Once I know exactly where I'm going to be going, I'll post it and if anyone has a relative they know of in the same place, I'd be glad to try and get a picture for you. This is only if you know your relative is there....I can't really do a scavenger hunt for surnames, because it sounds like some of the cemeteries I'm looking at are pretty large. Since I have webtv I figure I'll just take my cam corder. With webtv I'm able to pop the tape in my VCR and forward pics from the tapes in e-mails. I live in Lake County Illinois. so it's not really that bad of a drive to Aurora. I don't plan on doing this for a few weeks, or maybe even next month sometime. The cemeteries I'm looking at are Riverside, Marywood/annunciation, st josephs, St Nicholas, & Mt Olivet. I'm sure I'll look like an idiot running around the cemeteries with a camcorder...lol...but it will go faster and be cheaper then buying and developing film. debs

    3. Leigh, thanks....I wasn't sure what to do about posting the names. I was trying to be helpful, not upset anyone. I know it's a pain if your not interested in something and you find your mail box filled up with the stuff. About getting posts sent to me personally. I'm on webtv, and sometimes have a problem getting things. Sometimes there is a several day delay between an item sent to me and it actually reaching me. If anyone wants to help me out posting the names requested feel free to do so. I wasn't expecting so many requests, and am falling behind rather quickly. I'll just check to see if a lookup was already made before I look up the same surname. Thanks, debs [email protected]
