He was born 1 Sept 1847 in Mississippi to Robert R. and Mary E. (Dawson) McCall. His father was born in 1825 near Nashville, TN. Robert and Mary moved to Illinois in 1865 near Vienna. They remained there up until Mr. McCalls death in June 1883. They had eight children: Robert M.; Francis; Victoria; Rebecca; Thomas; James; William; and Daniel. Robert Marion McCall was married 25 December 1868 to Miss Josephine Glassford.
