Hi! My gg grandfather was Thomas Andrew Smyth/Smith. His father was Larkin T Smyth, b. est 1800, VA, died Johnson Co., IL. 1858. He married 2 Nov 1825 Jane Wise in Hardeman Co., TN. He married Margaret Ann Berton in Johnson Co. on 20 Nov. 1842. Thomas Andrew Smyth named a son, Andrew Peyton, born. Nov 1864 in IL Andrew Peyton probably never married but I have not found him after 1900 census. A number of Larkin T Smyth/Smith's decendents have been trying to find the parents of Larkin T Smyth/Smith of VA. Do you have knowledge of one Andrew D (David?) Smith? Both are listed as being in Alexander County Battalion, IL Melitia in 1824. At that time they were officers of the Illinois Melitia. I believe they went to Hardeman Co., TN after this time, but Larkin moved back to Illinois some time before 1835. He and family, with second wife are listed on the 1850 census of Johnson Co., IL.
