Looking for information on Caleb Cotton who was in Johnson or Pope Co Illinois. His daughter my GGGrandmother was born at Vienna, Johnson Co. Illinois. 12 Mar, 1827. Caleb was born in NC about 1780, was in Rutherford Tennessee, and then came to Southern Illinois. He married Nancy Meredith Nov 6, 1801 in Surry Co. NC. They had children: James, Malinda, Mahala, Sarah, Caleb Caroll, Nancy Josephine, George Washington, Noah Shelton, Gabriel Lovoen, Margaret Louisa, and Peninah Shropshire.
