Hi...Im new to this list, thanks to Mara Bruce (see it worked Mara!) having lived in Johnson Co. off and on from 1930 to 1950. My grandparent Charles M. Davis lived on RR4 (I think) out of Buncombe and was the Johnson County Road Commissioner for several years...I attended Buncombe school in 1937-38, graduating from the elementary school there. I am also related to CC Walker the postmaster of Buncombe for nearly 50 years...My own ggrandfather was a physician in Buncombe, and later in Lick Creek, name of William G White. MD. later moved on to Jonesboro, where he died in 1920. My grandfather Charles Marion Davis father was John William Davis. John William married Nancy Elizabeth Stubblefield of Tennessee and they had a large family...Charles Marions wife and my grandmother was Gussie (Gustave) Emma White, daugher of the previously mentiones Dr. William Gus White. .I am researching the Davis family, the White Family, the Stubblefield family, of Johnson Co.
