    3. Wondering what info you have on a Rice line. My ggg grandfather James Pascal RICE, b. @ 1818 in MO, son of Abijah and Jaley Ann BROWN RICE, was in Johnson County, IL and McCracken County, KY @ 1840, having left SE MO @ 1836 because the Indians of that area were removed. James Pascal RICE was 3/4 Cherokee/Chickasaw. By 1850, he had bought land in Jefferson County, IL, where he remained until @ 1858. He married @ 1843 a woman named Sarah, also called Winogi, which in Cherokee means, let's go sing. I do not know what her maiden name was, but it may have been HOGG. He and Winogi were probably married in Johnson County, IL. IN 1843, their daughter Martha Elizabeth RICE was b. in MO or ARK. Their subsequent children, William, Mary Ann, and Sarah, were born before 1850 in Johnson County. Their daughter Dicey and son James Abner were born before 1858 in Jefferson County. Just a long shot, but willing to try to make a connection!
