Hi, I am researching several families in Johnson and Massac Counties. The EMERSONs lived around Reevesville and New Columbia so their records are in both counties . James EMBERSON/EMMERSON came to Johnson Co. about 1840. His first wife was Susannah McDANIEL but I have never been able to find anything else about her. Would really like to hear from anyone that has any info. at all. James & Susannah's son, Drury Willis Emerson, was my ancestor. He was born abt. 1825 in TN (where?) and mar. Martha Ann EVANS in Johnson Co. on 16 March 1845. She was born in TN abt. 1827/28 and died in 1874. That is all I know about her. Would like to hear if anyone has an EVANS/EMERSON connection in your family. Now for the impossible - looking for info. on Hiram SMITH who was born in KY abt. 1807/1810. He mar. 1st, Mary (GIBBS?). They had Cebrina, John, George, Thomas, Malinda, and William M. Cebrina is my ancestor and she mar. Franklin (Frank) FISHER in Johnson Co. Hiram mar. 2nd Nancy GRADEN in 1855. At first I thought Hiram was an unusual name but there were three Hiram SMITHs in Johnson County at about the same time.
