    2. Pg. 160 JOHN W. CHOAT John W. Choat, son of James CHOAT and Nancy P. UNDERWOOD, was born near Tunnel Hill, Il., March 1, 1865. He married Imatha Randolph, October 4, 1882. One child was born to that union. On July 11, 1886 he married Rosetta J. LAMBERT. Her parents were Julias LAMBERT and Rachel C. McFARLIN of near New Burnside, Il. Nine children were born to John and Rosetta. Two cannot be accounted for and it is assumed they died as infants. Noah was born in 1887 and died 1968. On November 23 1911 he married Ethel McGUIRE of Lusk, Il. They had two sons, Jack and Athern. Myrtle was born 1891, died November 10 1980. She married Shirley HOLLOMMAN, December 7 1910. They had 3 sons; Earl, John and Charlie. She divorced and married Orville HINES. They had one son, Floyd. She died in Lake County, In. Roy and Coy were twins born March 3, 1897. Roy never married and lived with his father most of his life. Roy worked as a mechanic for Clyde RAGAN at Eddyville for years. He also drove a school bus for years. He died May 4, 1969 at the Pope County Coon Hunters Club, "The Old Thompson school", as a caretaker. Coy married Myrtle EDMONDS of Smithland, Ky., June 10 1925. They had three children Cleo, Elva Mae, and Peggy. He farmed. He died October 18, 1962. Boy Coy and Roy are buried at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, south of Lone Oak, Ky., on Route 45. Willie born 1900. Most people knew him called him Bill or Billy. He died at St. Louis. Orbie, May 28, 1902, born near Hartsville, Il. He had three sons from his first marriage, Claud, Lee, Billy. In 1945 he married June A. HARTIN of Hobart, In. They had two sons, Merrill Phillip born Feb 24 1946, lives near Roesbud Il., today. John Marshall, born August 17, 1947, and died at 6 weeks of age. Orbie died October 23, 1965 and is buried at Graceland Cemetery, Balparaiso, In. Elva Mae born April 27 1905, died October 10, 1923 of tuberculosis. Buried at Old Home Church, Pope Co. John�s wife Rosetta died March 13 1926, buried at Old Home church. On November 14, 1926 John married Mattie EMBERSON of Vienna. John came to Pope Co. around 1900. He bought 118 acres by Bethseda Church on Bushwack Road in 1905. He sold that property west of the Robbs corner. That was a 200 acre farm. On July 28, 1922, he bough a small place on what is now the Eddyville blacktop. It was about 15 acres. John was a farmer all his life and in his later years always had a large garden. He died at home in bed, December 23, 1943, buried at old Home Church. The Choat name has no E" on the end. Over the years by the mere stroke of the pen the "E" has been added to many Choat names changing it to Choate. Submitted by Merrill p. Choate
