Hello, Louise, Nice to hear from another cuzzin!!! No, your uncle Theodore Roosevelt Gray would not be a brother of Thomas Basil Gray. He is actually a grandnephew, but they are in the same line, and both descend from my ancestor Ivy Reynolds through his daughter, Mary Ann who married Basil Shaw Gray. Basil S. and Mary Ann had a son named Alexander Jones Gray. He married Arista Caldwell, and they had Basil Shaw Jr. in 1868. Arista died young, and Basil Sr. remarried to Izora Oliver. Basil Jr. married Margaret Austin in 1890, and they had your uncle Theodore in 1903. They had several other children as well.
