I have two separate (at least for now) branches of Kerley ancestors. I am trying to find a common ancestor, if possible, for the two branches. One branch is through HENRY Kerley born Bet. 1750 - 1758 in Albermarle Co. VA, and died Abt. 1836 in Waynesboro, Wayne Co. TN. He married (1) SARAH "SALLIE" GARRETT 1780. She was born Abt. 1760, and died 1816 in Burke Co., NC. He married (2) MILLIE PLOTT 1818. My ancestors on this Kerley branch are Henry Kerley, his son Lewis Kerley, his son Miles Austin Kerley, his son John McClellan Kerley, his daughter Julia Edna Kerley. The other branch although not biological is that of Daniel Kerley born 1781 in NC, and died Bef. 1860 in Johnson Co. IL. He married MARY ? Abt. 1809. She was born 1791 in Burke Co. NC. According to a copy of Daniel Kerley's will he had two children: WOODSON WEST ( b. Bet. 1809 - 1810, NC; d. Bef. 1880, Johnson Co. IL.) and OSBORNE KERLEY (b. 1811, Burke Co. NC.) I would like to find out the parents and siblings of this Daniel Kerley. Also, if anyone would know the parentage of Woodson West that would be a great help. My ancestry here is Woodson West, his daughter Emily Alvira West, her son Newton Jasper Murrie, and his daughter Lena Mae Murrie.
