I am researching all the Gray lines in Johnson County, and have a Lucinda Caroline, born about 1839, daughter of James Madison Gray (b. 1806-TN) and Elizabeth Copeland (we think - b. 1805 - NC.) Lucinda married James A. Simmons 5 Dec. 1853 in Johnson County, Ill., and they moved to Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where she died. I have 2 sons listed - 1860 Johnson County census - William, b. 1855, and Hezekiah, born 1858. Any info you might have would be appreciated. I didn't see a tie in what you sent, however.     3. Hi, Margaret, We have searched and researched on the Gray line and although there is no proof, we decided that my John M. Gray who married Mary "Polly" Jones and Basil Gray have to be related. I have met some of the other gals who are on different lines - Charlene Gray James and I claim each other as cousins. She was the one who helped me and gave me info that went back to Ivy Reynolds. I have info on Basil, but not much on Mary Ann Reynolds. Any help I can give, I would be glad to.
