Whoa! John Monroe Gray.....where did he live? My great grandmother was Catherine ( Katherine) Gray She named a son Monroe. She was the daughter of Jesse Gray of Tipton, Missouri. He has a brother John Gray also buried in Moniteau Cemetary near Tipton. She had relative named Mary "Polly" Barfield. They went to Illionis from Tipton with Hessie Barfield & Mary Polly Jago. Katherine 1st married Thomas Benton Whomer (Homer) Whomer (Homer) She had a son by him John. She then married Richmond Sexton. One of her sons was my grandfather Monroe Sexton. She divorced Richmond Sexton and later married George Pendarvis. They later seperated. She lived in the Cache area. I NEVER have been able to find her dead ANYWHERE. The 1890 Fed Census burned and she is not in the 1900 census. Her grandson Issac Sexton, my uncle did not know where she died and was buried. ANY Information you might have connected with this family would keep me from knocking my head against this brick wall. I've been working on this for 35 YEARS and am 67 & have lately been very ill. Years ago we walked every cemetary in the area looking for her only later to find she married George Pendarvis ( Pendiver) and may have been buried with that last name.
