They are some of the children of [William] Edward Ragsdale and Elizabeth Cole [daughter of Philip Cole and Rebecca English of Greene County, TN]. Edward Ragsdale is my brickwall right now. He was born in VA ca. 1780-95. I wonder if these Johnson Co. IL Ragsdales are connected [I'm sure they are]. The Escues-----a Thomas H. Ragsdale of Johnson Co. IL was married to a Nancy Escue [I think she is the daughter of Jonathan Escue and Elizabeth Smith of Sumner Co. TN]. Thomas was born in TN also. Nancy, I have Thomas Ragsdale married to Nancy Escue. I'm showing him as the son of Joel and Elizabeth Ragsdale and I think they are my 2nd gr-grandparents, but I have not documented this.
