Hi, I am trying to track my great great grandfather. His name is James (Jim) A (H) Day. He was born on August 1862(1) in Illinois or Tennesee. I believe I have located him on page 6 of the 1870 census, township 12; range 2 East; Johnson Co. Illinois. At the top of the page the on line 10 is an entry for a James Day 8 years old. He is living with the Gurley(?) family. On line 3 is an entry for a Sarah Day age 15. She is living with the Thomas family. It would seem to me that something happened to the parents and the Day children were taken in by these families. Can anyone help me to locate members of the Day family or does anyone have any knowledge of the history of this region at this time? If theis is athe same James Day then he went on to marry a Helen Laird and settled in Texas. I would appreciate any information anyone had. Barbara Silva
