I've hunted family history for years, at one time, I thought my William Greer was married to Mary Ann Hooker. They were married in Wilson Co., Tn in 1815. I had found information that Ira Greer [ a son of William Greer] was born in Wilson Co., TN.... I wrote to the County Clerk, they sent me a marriage record of William Greer and Mary (Polly) Hooker in 1815..... SO for years I hunted Hooker family history. A few years ago, I found the County Clerk had sent me the wrong marriage record, it was for William GreeN and Mary Ann Hooker.... They sent me the correct record, William Greer and Mary PICKERELL.... I have several records from the County Clerk in Johnson County about the Hooker family from there. Also, I have two books about the Hooker family. "Benjamin and "Ann Frizelle Hooker" by Malcomb D. Hooker 1976 with 1977 supplements.... the other says it has 1977-1978-1979 supplements My Greers moved from Wilson Co., TN to Gallatin, Johnson and Union Counties in IL... they were there by 1840....
