    2. Thanks. This seems to be a brickwall. They were living in Simpson in 1880 and she was listed as L. Watters. Her middle name was Emaline. She was listd as Sena as a child. They certainly did play around with their names. 1880 Census - Johnson Co Illinois - Simpson Town, #648/648 WATTERS, S. - white, male, age 25, married, farmer, Illinois, Illinois, Il linois Watters, L. - white, female, age 23, married, Illinois, Illinois, Illinois Watters, T. H. - white, male, age 1, Illinois, Illinois, Illinois 1870 Johnson Co. Illinois Census, PG. 152 Reynoldburg Tsp THOMAS FRIZELL - age 42, male, white,born in Tenn, farmer Eliza J. age 39, female, white, born in Tenn. William age 14, male, white, born in Ill Sena age 13, female, white, born in Ill. Edocia age 10, male, white, born in Illinois. George age 8, male, white, born in in Illinois Cyntha age 6, female, white, born in Illinois Ida, age 5, female, white, born in Illinois Lara A. age 1, female, white, born in Illinois Her sister, Mary Ida Frizzell Waters is at Old Zion. Her brother George Frizzell is also. Her parents are buried at Rushing. I looked at both Rushing and Old Zion. Would there possibly be an L. Waters or Watters? Spencer remarried Mary Ann Brown from Johnson Co. and moved to Calloway Co. KY. Sharon

    3. Have you checked the Pope County records for your WATTERS/WATERS? One of the very earliest settlers of Pope County was a Waters, and some others bought property there in the 1850s. So far, I have not been able to connect them up with the Johnson County VANDEWATERS/WATERS line.
