The age woud mean the two older girls were from another mother....BUT note, it says all four of the children have a mother listed as born in MS..... Louise by the way, we thought, since you mentioned someone had found a marriage in the LDS records, we would look there also.....we did not find Walker Holmes (Homes) in any of the LDS records we have available. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, March 01, 2003 1:20 PM Subject: Re: [ILJOHNSO] Marriage book > Kenneth, > Thank you very much. 1. [ILJOHNSO] Thomas Simmons line of Descendants
    2. Any one out there on the male side of Thomas Simmons line may be able to find out if you are truely related. I plan on doing DNA testing for my direct male line. It is a liitle expensive but I have my tax refund coming so am going to do it. It may also help me find where Thomas Simmons came from before Johnson County Illinois. I will no for sure if he comes from Franklin County NC like I think he does or if he is from some other area of NC or VA or Ireland. Plan on doing it the last of March of 2003. My line is; Clyde Simmons born Nov 15, 1915 the son of Richard Layfayette Simmons and Rebbeca Jane Obrien. Richard Layfayette Simmons born Sept 11, 1873 the son of Peter Ford Simmons and Augusta Mahler Peter Ford Simmons was born Feb. 24, 1853 the son of Richard Neely Simmons and Rebbeca Morris Richard Neely Simmons was born April 26, 1825 Not sure the father but believe it was Peter Simmons and Cynthia Harvey (I should be able to prove this with DNA testing) Peter Simmons was born Dec. 24, 1804 the son of Thomas Simmons or John Thomas Simmons and Mary Ann Walker ro Elizabeth Walker Thomas Simmons is believed to me to have come from a John Simmons Junior and a Mollie Unknown from Franklin County NC. John Simmons Junior is believed to be the son of a John Simmons Senior and a Ann Unknown possibly Ann Jones from Franklin County NC. John Simmons Senior was born abt 1710-1720 and we do not know where he was from in VA.. JohnSimmons Senior had one son a William Simmons for sure and John Simmons Junior is believed to be his son but no proof. They did have many many deeds togather, John Senior, John Junior and William Simmons. William Simmons married a Elizabeth Unknown and had a godfather of Henry Jones in 1744. William left a will of his line but John Simmons Juniors will was not legal and was lost. His children are not known but may be Thomas Simmons and Elizabeth or Mary Ann Walker. If the direct descedants on the female side were interested they could find out maybe where Mary Ann Elizabeth Walker came from and who are her parents. Greg Simmons
