Connie I have two books on Grant that have him arriving in Galena in April, 1860 from Saint Louis. The American Guide (WPA, 1937) for Galena lists the Grant leather store, where he first went to work in 1860, at 120 Main. The street numbers were redone on Main at some point in time so this may not be the current number.
