Thanks in advance. >>Ted >> Probably for reasons of looking for greener pastures; maybe the lead mines became less productive and if the person was not a farmer would look for a bigger city to find more industry. my gr grandfather was a farmer and lived and died in Galena; but one of his sons moved first to Iowa and then one unproductive very wet season got him moving again and he ended up in Tracy, Minnesota.
