    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hileman, Robbins Classification: Queries Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Jg.2ADI/557.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Nona, Thank you for your reply and all the great information. I had none of this. Yes, you're correct, William H. Robbins was the son of Melzar and Aurelia M. Sprague Robbins. Melzar and Aurelia had nine children. One of which was William H. Sergeant William H. Robbins saw many battles as a member of the 96th Illinois Volunteer Infantry, Co. H. He was severely wounded and captured at the Battle of Chickamauga. He suffered disability the rest of his life. He served with my GGF Sergeant Michael Hileman. You can learn more about the 96th IVI at: http://hhileman.home.netcom.com/ William married Alice and together they had eight children: Clara J. Robbins Fannie Aurelia Loretta William Melzer Joseph May Charles I too am trying to track down any information on these children and until your message I had information on only one: my GGM Fanny Aurelia Robbins who married the son of her father's army buddy Michael Hileman. Thomas Backus Hileman was married to Fanny Aurelia 9/8/1876 at Gratiot, Lafayette Co., Wisconsin. The Robbins were living in Apple River, Jo Daviess Co., IL for most of the children's childhoods. Alice Robbins died and William H. Robbins remarried to Mary L. Wright 12/21/1881. I do not know where William and Mary spent there later years, but I have sent for his pension papers and those should tell me something. I have much research, a Bio of Melzar Robbins Sr., and a photo of Fanny Aurelia Robbins. I am so happy to get your information on Clara. I was in Telluride some time ago, I wish I knew then what I know now. I will send a copy of this to your e-mail, also I will include a family report, if you want a gedcom file, let me know. Hal
