Some folks must have missed this because I am still getting numerous queries on surnames and first names. I hope it is okay to re-post. All names in the cookbook are provided below. I know nothing on these families. I am willing to re-type a recipe or two, but for larger requests I suggest you wait until I scan it all and get it to Cheryl for the USGENWEB site. Due to the number of pages and my schedule, it will take me a couple of weeks. Thanks for your patience, Chris originally posted on 4/4/00......... A couple of quick notes: 1. the cookbook included no photos or graphics 2. I am working with Cheryl to get the whole thing on-line, but this may be a little while 3. I am not sure how well this will work below, but took this approach since we can't use attachments on the list. -- Chris Here goes.......... <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> The Reliable Cook Book vouchered for by The Ladies' Missionary and Aid Society of the Elizabeth Presbyterian Church "She looketh well to the ways of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness." Leonard Jeweler & Watch Repair NOTES FROM INDEXER: I have typed names as they appear and made no effort to combine likely persons (i.e., Mrs. Charley Rowley and Mrs. Chas. Rowley). I will leave such assumptions to the reader. For those names with the same page numbers appearing twice, in most cases this indicates that the person had more than one recipe appearing on the same page. I thought this would be useful to give the reader a quick indicator of the number of recipes submitted by any one person. However, the reader must remain careful and vigilant-the page numbers in this book are out of order, with some page numbers (not pages) even appearing twice. I found no indication of lost pages or rebinding, so I must assume this was an editing error at the time of printing. Overall, the book is in fair shape given its age and obvious use. The pages have browned. A few rips and stains are present, but all printed text is very legible. A small number of additional recipes are sewn or pinned into the book. The binding and cover have no text or graphic, but are in good shape. The cookbook contains no photos or graphics. I could not decipher one of the names from a handwritten recipe in the back (a Mrs. George ________ ). The handwritten recipes in the back are in a number of different hands, which indicates that the "submitters" likely wrote the recipes in their own handwriting. Many of these handwritten recipe surnames are common to the Elizabeth area. submitted by, Chris Straight N13577 North Alma Center Road Fairchild, WI 54741
