Father Leonard b.1816 TN Married Malinda Mary Keathley (b.and m. in Missouri); (have picture of cemetery, Galena, Jo Daviess, IL but no grave stone for Leonard Sayles Sr. and his father Thomas Sayles). Have death date for Malinda (Keathley) Sayles but no cemetery information, died 11 Feb 1899. Leonard Sidney Sayles married Lena Handel in South Dakota 1886, She was b. 26 Nov 1867 Galena, Jo Daviess, IL. Parents: John Handel and Melinda Christy both born in Germany. I have her death records, mortuary records etc. from South Dakota. Except for the Censuses, (1850, 1860) I have no documents such as: Birth or Death, land records, probate records for Leonard Sr., Malinda (keathley), or Thomas Sayles. No Census records for the 1870 census. Lena would be have been 3-4 years old. Several years ago, we went to the Court house, and county library in Jo Daviess co., IL and was unable to get any other info, except a land record for property Leonard Sr. received from his father Thomas Leonard (April 1854) of 100 acres in Section 32.
