They left Antwerp about 1849 to New Orleans and up the Mississippi River locating in Derinda Township, Jo Daviess Co. (Derinda adjoins Hanover Twp and Carroll County). They moved to Washington Twp., Carroll Co. Daniel Sr. d. Dec. 1883. Three ch born in U.S.: Lena m. John McIntyre, resided Hanover, Mary a school teacher, and Rosina who d. young. John m.
