    1. [ILJODAVI] Nora, Hoof and Mouth in cattle
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Jg.2ADI/1329 Message Board Post: Mother (who is 100) tells about when her Dad worked for Ed Gesner (sp?). He lived up that road that run`s NE out of Nora. Also living on that farm were Mr. and Mrs. Footit (sp?). She thinks it was about 1916 when his cattle got the hoof and mouth disease, or something like it. In any event, the cattle had to be shot right on the farm and Mrs. Footit was so scared of hearing the gun fire, that she sat all day in a closet, where it was quieter! Also, when the Gypsy wagon`s passed through Nora, a neighbor ran to tell the merchants, then went on to Warren to spread the alarm. Mom and her sister Eliabeth hid in the attic of their house. Best wishes, Ken
