Have their been any books written on the subject of Irish immigration to Galena Illinois? Did early immigrants come to the vecinity in large groups, or did inviduals make the journeys themselves? I only ask because I can't pinpoint a specific location for my Irish ancestor who arrived in the Vinegar Hill area at no later date than 1835.
