It appears that many of the early settlers in JoDaviess Co. and neighboring counties came from Pennsylvania...as did my g.g.grandfather, Andrew H. Mitchell according to census records. Does anyone know which counties in Pennsylvania were the starting point for many of these early JoDaviess settlers? I'm trying to find the PA county where Andrew Mitchell was born and since people tended to migrate in groups, he probably came from the same PAa county as other JoDaviess settlers. Andrew was born about 1820 in Pennsylvania and married Ann M. Fitzsimmons in 1847 in JoDaviess County. Thanks, Mary Swanson [email protected]
