I am thinking I read in the Galena Gazette that he had to go to a nursing home recently. I could be wrong. I imagine his wife is still in the house which was not far from the library. The gentleman that volunteers at the library (genealogy dept) in Galena on Saturdays would know. I know he is a friend of Alfred's.
Thank so much for the information on Mr. Mueller. He was so kind to my aunt, mother and I back in July of 1983. We had traveled all the way from San Francisco and stayed at Mrs. Kelly's mansion which was right next to the Belvedere Mansion across the river and on the hill overlooking the railroad station and downtown Galena. He welcomed my aunt, mother and I into his home for nice visit. He even took us to the Library too. I gave him or I left a copy of the names I crossed-indexed from th diary of my great grandfather, Michael Hart (years covered in the diary 1853-1878). Mr. Mueller really loved history and especially genealogy. In fact, he sort of became my model in all this genealogical research. I have now spent almost 25 years on the Hart history. The Internet has opened up a whole new means of communication for all of us. I am so thankful for the Internet and to the Jo Daviess websitesite and especially to Alfred Mueller. If anyone of our Jo Daviess group can make a copy of this email and give it to him or the Galena Library and his friends, I really appreciate it.
