The home I am interested in, is located near the hospital in Freeport, and was built in 1857. I have been unable to ubtain any records, therefore, not knowing if this house has a historical past or not. Not being from this area, has made it difficult to trace it's past. Any and all information would be great!

Surnames: Goodwin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Jg.2ADI/1355 Message Board Post: Looking for information on William Goodwin and parents. He was b. Missouri and buried at 'Snipe Hollow' JoDaviess Co., Illinois. Any cemeteries in the Snipe Hollow area, or sources online? This is a colorful guy! He had a lengthy affair with Mrs. Bell, probably the wife of Arthur G. Bell of JoDaviess County, Illinois. He served in the Civil War in the 96th Inf, Company F, JoDaviess County Volunteers and apparently shot himself in the foot to get out, but was never able to claim a pension for the injury. His wife Messina was never able to claim widows pension from his service either because she apparently forgot to divorce her first husband when she married Will. I would love to find his final resting place and would pay for a pic of the stone, if anyone bothered to purchase him one at that point! His wife Messina (Sina) died in the early 1900's and I can not track her place of burial either. They were in Guilford Twp, Jo Daviess Co., Illinois from at least 1855 until! his death in 1889.

    1. Gradus Gilchrist Vandelinder
    2. Looking for any info on my G Grandfather, "Gradus Gilchrist Vandelinder/Vanderlinder". Born between 1850-1880. According to my research, Gradus was born in Galena & was the son of a "John C Vanderlinder". John had two brothers that I know of. One named Martin & one named William. William also lived in Galena. I believe that John was married to a Catharine/ Catherine . John was the son of "Abraham/Abram Vanderlinder" of NY. Abram/Abraham was married to an "Elizabeth (Betsey) Chapman". Betsey was the daughter of an "Ebenezer Chapman". Gradus was married to "Ethel Pearl MIller of Illinois. Please let me stress that while I have worked hard to confirm this info, it may still very well be WRONG. So any corrections are much appreciated. Thank you. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Jg.2ADI/1321.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi, I have a Simon Sincock who married an Elizabeth Price in my family. I don't have a lot of info, but can say that Elizabeth was a daughter of Richard Price (b.aft.1854), and granddaughter of Catherine (Evans) b. 1834 in Wales and Elias Price unknown birthdate but they married Dec.23, 1854 per Richard's figured birthdate. I figured that Elizabeth who married Simon Sincock was probably born about the 1880s or 90s at the latest, puting the marriage after 1900 I guess. Of course this is all a guess, I can get back to you in a day or so. Let me know. jennifer@heer.com Jennifer Heer Norman
