Surnames: Spurgeon Mcginnis Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Jg.2ADI/1191.2 Message Board Post: Sherry, I was wondering if you can help me. I believe that Francis Mcginnis's daughter, Tabitha Jane, married Joseph T. Spurgeon who was my 3rd greatgrandfather making her my 3rd greatgrandmother. I have been stuck on family lore on this line for over 25 years. All of our family bible and oral family history says he was married to a Jane Harshbarger in 1852 and born in Indiana. I do not believe this to be true now. I have found the marriage record in Jo Daviess Co. for Joseph and Tabitha Jane married on 9/14/1854. In the 1860 census for Jo Daviess Francis and Eleanor are just two houses away from my Joseph and Jane Spurgeon and their three children. If this is true they were only married 5 months when my 2ndgreatgrandfather George Robert was born. This may be the reason some of this data is wrong, everybody wanted to keep it a secret. Can you help me with this. I can send you a report on what I have on the Spurgeon side. My email address is Robbiedecker2003@yahoo.com. Thank you Robbie

The group left Illionos to homestead in Cheever Township, Dickinson County, Kansas in early 1871. It was led by a Rev. W. B. Christopher, who apparently later returned to Illinois. My GGF, Joseph Thomas Moore, was among the members - as - as were J. W. Robson and (Charles) Daniel Teare. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have found the parcels of land owned by Daniel Driscoll and Timothy Driscoll and would like to see just where they were and if anyone else in the area might have been a relative or future relative. The land was purchased in 1838. Daniel died prior to 1855 and I’m sure the land was sold since I found the family (without Daniel) in St Louis Missouri in the 1860 Census. I would be happy to pay for copies of pages Thanks Sheila sthayer@u.washington.edu
