Hi, I am looking for the death index for "Oakwood Cemetery". I was at what I call the Elizabeth City Cemetery and found the graves of Joseph and Julia Hancock (death 1871) along with Joseph mother, Mary (death 1873). There has be a stone replaced over Joseph's grave and I believe they reversed the birth year from "1843" to "1834" Plus, Joseph father, I believe should be there which could be a broken off stone in that same "family Plot" in the cemetery. Can you also give me some history on how or if the 2 side by side cemeteries have been combine. Thank a bunch - Deb Madsen
I was wondering if someone could give me some information about this cemetary. Accourding to a tombstone index I believe that my ggg-grandfather might be buried there. His name was Crowell Evans Morris and his wife is Nancy Purdy (Voris) Morris. From what I saw it appeared that there may be a type-o in Crowell's name and he is listed as Ordwell, however any additional information about him and/or his wife would be great. JenniLyn Carnes

Dear List members, We have now completed the Illinois counties family history links on our website, except for further updates as we receive more church records, which is an ongoing task. We are now preparing to enter some information for counties in Iowa, and Missouri, and have already entered a few counties for Wisconsin. We have the research well underway for Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, but in Missouri, Kentucky, and Indiana, we have a great deal more original research work to do, and will appreciate help from anyone who knows of the existence of Primitive Baptist church records or membership lists for those states. We have made enough revision and addition to our site, to warrant giving you the URL addresses again, in case you wish to check our site again, or see it for the first time. We encourage you to write on the guest books which are at the bottom of two or three of our webpages. Our main homepage (with links to research completed and in progress for several states): http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/pbl.html Or, for Illinois counties, go directly to: http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/FamHist.html Best wishes, Robert Webb The Primitive Baptist Library Carthage, Illinois HAPPY 4th of JULY I will now go ring the bell on our church ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! I just learned that the old Lutheran College of Galena, from which my great grandfather Philip William Maxeiner graduated in 1872, was Wartburg College. Would anyone have any information about the school's time in Galena (1868 to 1875)? Pastor Klindworth was the President then. Thanks James Maxeiner Bronxville NY
