Elaine Evans and all Jersey Co., IL listers, Elaine, thank you for doing some census lookups! Would you have ANY Crossett people in the 1870 Jersey Co., IL census? I just recently found out that my husband's great-great-grandmother was Nancy Crossett, wife of John D. Elliott. They married on 3 Oct 1867 in Jersey Co., IL. She was the daughter of James and Martha Ann ?? Crossett who showed on 1850 Jersey Co., IL census with 4 daughters and one son. The following are statistics on them: James Crossett - born about 1822 PA - father Martha Ann ??? - born about 1824 MD - mother Ann M. Crossett - born about 1842 IL - daughter Mary M. Crossett - born about 1843 IL - daughter James R. Crossett - born about 18444 IL - son Emily Jane Crossett - born about 1845 IL - daughter Margaret M. Crossett - born about 1848 IL - daughter Nancy Crossett - born about 1851 IL - daughter Hulda C. Crossett - born about 1852 IL - daughter Mary Martha Crossett - born about 1853 IL - daughter Amanda L. Crossett - daughter?? Ann M. Crossett married Booker C. Murphy on 3 Jan 1858 in Jersey Co., IL Emily Jane Crossett married Vincent M. Richey on 28 March 1867 in Jersey Co., IL (their family showed on 1880 Jersey Co., IL census) Hulda C. Crossett married Houston Taylor Estes on 18 Jan 1872 in Jersey Co., IL (their family showed on 1880 Jersey Co., IL census) Mary Martha Crossett married Theodore J. Richey on 28 March 1867 in Jersey Co., IL (their family showed on 1880 Piatt Co., IL census) Amanda L. Crossett married Frank B. Knowlton on 28 Jan 1873 in Jersey Co., IL If anyone on the Jersey Co., IL mail-list know anything about this James Crossett family, I would love to hear from him/her!!! I obtained the marriage record of Rena Elliott and Patrick Delehanty who married 1897 in Madison Co., IL, and it showed their parents' names very, very clearly. I knew Rena was born in Alabama, so after obtaining her parents' names, I found them with Rena and her two older brothers AND the only brother of Nancy Crossett (James R. Crossett)! on the 1880 Morgan Co., AL census. I don't know if Rena's parents and brothers went back to IL or stayed in Alabama - I haven't checked into that yet - but Rena was back in Alton, IL area where she married Patrick Delehanty and had her family there. Rena and Patrick were the parents of my husband Charles Linenfelser's maternal grandmother Lillian Mae Delehanty who married Clarence Higgins. Please do contact me either at my email address or through the Jersey Co mail list. Thank you so much. Judy Linenfelser
